Dušan Drakić not elected as director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption for a full term

The current acting director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Dušan Drakić was not elected to the position today because the required majority was not reached.

Three members of the APC Council voted in favor of his appointment, council member Aleksandra Vukašinović voted against, while Dragana Šuković abstained.

As a result, Drakić did not receive the necessary majority, since four votes were required for his appointment.

The ETV portal reported this morning that Mithat Kuč, a candidate for the position of the APC director, had withdrawn from the race for the post, stating that the decision had already been predetermined and that his further participation in the process would not contribute to preserving his personal and professional integrity.

- Therefore, with gratitude for the opportunity given to me, I inform you that I am withdrawing from further participation in the selection process for the director and that I will not attend the scheduled interview - he stated.

He said the decision was made based on his personal and professional conviction that the principle of integrity must take precedence over any position.
