The defence of the arrested businessmen Aco Đukanović has offered bail of 5 million euros to the Basic Court in Nikšić in order for him to be released and defend himself from freedom. The prosecutor of the Basic Prosecutors's Office in Nikšić, Vanja Sinđić, believes that the offered bail of more than 5 million euros is not sufficient for Đukanović’s release from detention.

Đukanović's deffence attorney, Nikola Martinović, said part of that bail has been offered in property assets, including his family home in Nikšić, and part is in cash.

Martinović recalled that the Basic Prosecutor's Office is charging Đukanović of with illegal possession of weapons and therefore considers the prosecutor’s opinion inconceivable.

- The prosecutor's opinion is not binding to the judge. We expect that the judge will make a decision on accepting the bail as soon as possible – Martinović said.

Đukanović was brought before a judge at the Basic Court in Nikšić earlier today.

He was arrested on February 28, after a search of his family home in the Nikšić neighborhood Rastoci, after which he was placed in detention.
