Tivat resident fined 445 euros for insulting comments directed at Zirojević

Tivat resident M. J. (59) was fined 445 euros for insulting comments he posted on the social network Facebook addressed to member of parliament from the party Social Democrats Nikola Zirojević – President of the Court for Misdemeanors in Budva Marko Đukanović confirmed for our news outlet.
The decision, as he specified, was rendered today in expedited proceedings by Judge Jelena Stanišić of the Court for Misdemeanors in Budva, Kotor Division.
– On December 12th, at around 5 p.m., via Facebook, from his personal profile, in response to a post by Nikola Zirojević, M. J. behaved in a particularly rude, shameless, and insulting manner by leaving offensive comments – Đukanović stated.
In doing so, he added, M. J. committed a misdemeanor under Article 7, paragraph 2, of the Law on Public Order and Peace.
–He was deprived of his liberty, and the time he spent in detention facilities was included in his sentence, so his sentence was reduced by 25 euros. Along with the fine, he was also ordered to pay the costs of the procedure in the amount of 30 euros, which he is obliged to pay within the same period as the fine. The ruling is final, as both the defendant and the Police Directorate waived their right to appeal – Đukanović told our portal.
M. J. had not previously been punished for either misdemeanors or criminal offenses.
