Prosecutorial Council to ETV Portal: Special Prosecutor's Office sought eight prosecutors, received only one application

The Prosecutorial Council republished a public vacancy on 20 July seeking to appoint eight special prosecutors to the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SSPO). However, only one application was submitted - the Council confirmed to ETV Portal.

No applications were received in response to the previous vacancy announcement, which had been published on 11 June.

Responding to an inquiry from ETV Portal, the Prosecutorial Council also stated that two applications had been submitted for the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica.

Until recently, the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was headed by Duško Milanović, who was appointed Chief Prosecutor of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office at a session of the Prosecutorial Council on 29 June. In that position, Milanović succeeded the previous head of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office, Lepa Medenica.

The current special prosecutors serving in the Special State Prosecutor's Office are Sanja Jovićević, Miloš Šoškić, Tanja Čolan Deretić, Vukas Radonjić, Zoran Vučinić, Miroslav Turković, Ana Perović Vojinović and Ivan Medojević. In addition, prosecutors Jovan Vukotić, Ivana Petrušić Vukašević, Siniša Milić, Maja Janković and Marko Ivanović have been seconded to the SSPO to provide additional support.

As previously reported by ETV Portal, Jovan Vukotić's term as a state prosecutor in the Special State Prosecutor's Office expired upon the completion of his four-year mandate. However, at the request of the SSPO, he was reassigned to continue working there as of 29 June for a period of up to two years.
