Laković and Mučalica arrested on suspicion of facilitating Miloš Medenica’s escape: Provided him with assistance and logistics while in hiding

Officers of the Podgorica Security Department arrested S. L. (36) and N. M. (36) from Podgorica last night, acting on the order of the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of facilitating the escape of Miloš Medenica, the Police Directorate announced.
As unofficially confirmed to Portal Etv by the police, the individuals in question are Saša Laković and Nemanja Mučalica.
They are suspected of committing this criminal offense by providing assistance and logistical support to the fugitive Medenica while he was in hiding, in order to keep him unavailable to law enforcement authorities after he violated supervision measures and after the presiding judge ordered his detention on January 28.
- In police-prosecutorial activities, which were carried out in a synchronized and coordinated manner, based on the facts gathered so far, there is evidence indicating grounds for suspicion that these two individuals committed the criminal offense they are charged with - the statement said.
The suspects will be brought before the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica along with a criminal complaint.
- The police will continue activities to find, locate, and deprive the fugitive Miloš Medenica of liberty, both nationally and internationally - the Police Directorate stated.
They added that the NCB Interpol Podgorica issued an international arrest warrant for him on January 29.
- Medenica was sentenced in a first-instance ruling by the High Court in Podgorica to a prison term of ten years and two months - the Police Directorate reminded.
