Closing arguments tomorrow in the trial against Danilo Mandić

At the Basic Court, before Judge Ivana Becić, the evidentiary proceedings in the case against Danilo Mandić, the nephew of Andrija Mandić, have been concluded. He is on trial for a serious offense against public safety, causing minor bodily injury, illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials, as well as the theft of an official vehicle.
Closing arguments are scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
Danilo Mandić did not attend today’s hearing, as he was not brought from the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions. However, his defense attorney, Miroje Jovanović, stated that Mandić’s presence was not necessary and that the evidentiary proceedings could be concluded.
Judge Becić proposed taking a break until Mandić was brought from the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, but the defense maintained that this was not necessary.
According to the prosecution, Mandić used a parliamentary „Land Rover“ to block the path of Podgorica residents Darko Perović and Aris Turković near the intersection of Marka Miljanova Street and Ivan Crnojević Boulevard. He then allegedly fired several shots at them, during which Perović was wounded.
Mandić is also charged with stealing the parliamentary vehicle.
