Bosniak Party to support Andrija Mandić’s removal from office

The Presidency of the Bosniak Party has unanimously decided that its Memebers of Parliament will vote in favour of removing Andrija Mandić from the position of President of the Parliament of Montenegro, the party announced.

The Bosniak Party said that at its session, the Presidency discussed the current political situation and the initiative to remove Mandić from office.

- The Presidency of the Bosniak Party unanimously decided that the Bosniak Party’s MPs will vote for the removal of Andrija Mandić from the position of President of the Parliament of Montenegro - the statement said.

According to the party, the Bosniak Party Presidency considers the decision to be in line with the party’s programmatic principles, as well as the values, responsibilities and principles on which a democratic and European Montenegro must be based.

The Bosniak Party stressed that Ratko Mladić was neither a „military commander“ nor a „hero“, nor a person towards whom any form of respect can be expressed, but rather a convicted war criminal who was sentenced by international judicial institutions to life imprisonment for the genocide in Srebrenica, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

- We would like to particularly remind everyone that the Parliament of Montenegro itself adopted a Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica. Therefore, for the Bosniak Party, it is unacceptable that, from the position of President of the country’s highest legislative body, messages of any form of respect or condolences to the family of a man who was finally convicted of genocide and other gravest war crimes should be conveyed - the BS said.
